FAITH FORMATION - THE BIBLE TIMELINE: THE STORY OF SALVATION

The Bible Timeline: The Story of Salvation is a fascinating study that takes you on a journey through the entire Bible. Go deep into each period of salvation history and discover the unique story woven throughout all of Scripture. Using a unique color-coded system, you will learn the major people, places, and events of the Bible and see how they all come together to reveal the remarkable story of our faith. As you explore salvation history from its beginning in Genesis through the coming of Christ and the establishment of the Catholic Church, you will see how God's loving plan for humanity has unfolded, resulting in a greater love for God and a deeper appreciation for your faith. All are welcome!
 
 
SOUL FOOD GOSPEL FEST
Sunday, February 19 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM - Emory Student Center, Multipurpose Room 4
Join Emory's Voices of Inner Strength Gospel Choir and wonderful guest gospel choirs from the Greater Atlanta area for a celebration with music, liturgical dance, spoken word, trivia, and games. LITURGICAL MINISTRY TRAINING: SACRISTANS
Sunday, February 19 at 4:00 PM - Cannon Chapel at Emory University
If you worship with our community and want to become more involved, you should consider becoming a liturgical minister! We are always actively seeking volunteers interested in helping out during Sunday Mass as an altar server, lector, or sacristan!  Individuals who complete the training will be commissioned to serve at Mass for four years. If you were unable to attend the lector or altar server training last week, reach out to our liturgical coordinator, Vickie Voll, at vickie@emorycatholic.org.

Every weekday In Lent, beginning Thursday, February 23 from 9:30 AM to 9:45 AM - Cannon Chapel Sanctuary
Throughout the season of Lent, we invite you to join the University Catholic Center and our Christian brothers and sisters on campus in prayer at 9:30 AM in the Cannon Chapel Sanctuary as a way to more fully prepare your heart to celebrate Easter with conviction. Morning prayer will be offered by a rotating ensemble of campus ministries - we encourage you to engage in this unique ecumenical opportunity!

Join us in prayer and reflection on the Passion of Christ with our outdoor Stations of the Cross. The Stations of the Cross is a 14-step devotion that commemorates Jesus Christ's last day on Earth. All are invited!

MYTHBUSTING CAPITAL PUNISHMENT WEBINAR

Restorative Justice Ministry invites you to join us as we break down the myths and misunderstandings of capital punishment. We will address questions of safety, “humane” executions, and the illusion of justice for victims and their families. Our speakers will be Patrick Mulvaney, director of capital litigation for Southern Center for Human Rights, and Sharon Wright Weeks, whose sister and niece were murdered in 1984.

THE WAY FOR WOMEN: A HEALING RETREAT FOR FEMALE SURVIVORS OF ABUSE

The Way for Women is a three-day retreat for adult female survivors of abuse offered by the Archdiocese of Atlanta’s Victim Assistance Program March 24-26 at Sautee Mountain Retreat in Clarksville, GA. The registration deadline is March 16.


ECHO YOUNG ADULT RETREAT

ECHO is a truly unique Catholic retreat experience, rooted in St. John Paul II’s Theology of the Body. Combining dynamic talks, prayer and sacraments, daily Mass and Adoration, small group discussions, artistic expression, and authentic community, ECHO takes participants on a journey to answer the deepest questions of the human heart. Questions such as: Who am I? What is my vocation? How can I truly find happiness? What is God’s plan for my life? Last year more than 150 young adults attended! WORLD YOUTH DAY 2023

World Youth Day (WYD) is the gathering of young people from all over the world with the Pope. It is also a pilgrimage, a celebration of youth, an expression of the universal Church, and an intense moment of evangelization for the youth world. The Archdiocese of Atlanta will lead a pilgrimage from July 28 - August 9 for young adults 18 years of age and older. DONATE TO ASSIST EARTHQUAKE RELIEF EFFORTS IN TURKEY AND SYRIA
Following 7.8 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes in southern Turkey and northwestern Syria, the death toll has surpassed 19,000 and continues to climb, with thousands injured and more still trapped beneath the rubble. Catholic Relief Services is supporting local partners already responding in areas where extensive damage has been reported. CRS will continue to assist partners in long-term recovery as they provide a range of support to meet evolving needs, likely to include safe shelter, access to food, hygiene supplies, and winter items.

THE NATIONAL EUCHARISTIC REVIVAL
The Bishops of the United States have started a three-year plan to revive and foster Eucharistic devotion in the hearts of the faithful. This movement hopes to heal, convert, form, and unify Catholics by encountering Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. Visit the National Eucharistic Revival website for more information.
