Merry Christmas! We pray you are in good health and have been able to celebrate this Christmas season with family and friends.
As you may have heard, Emory has reentered orange operating status effective December 28 as a precaution due to the COVID omicron variant.
While campus will reopen on January 4, most classes will begin online, and students are encouraged to delay their return to campus until January 27. All nonessential university events and gatherings are being moved online or postponed, and any essential indoor or outdoor gatherings are being limited to 25 attendees.
In light of these policy changes, Cannon Chapel has become unavailable for the celebration of Mass until Monday, January 31 at the earliest.
For the time being, the University Catholic Center will celebrate the weekly Sunday Mass at 11 AM on the Catholic Center lawn (weather permitting).
We know this news is disheartening, but we also remember the hope of Advent and the joy of Christ's birth as we look forward to returning to Cannon Chapel for Mass in February. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or need additional help.
Yours in Christ,
